UMD highlights Animal and Avian Sciences' students and farm
Lamb Watch is a unique offering of our campus and Animal & Avian Sciences through the Campus Farm. In ANSC245, Sheep Management, students stay up around the clock to help ewes that are in labor bring their new bundles of joy into the world. Students are paired up into teams of "lamb parents" who work together to care for their ewe, assist with their lamb's birth, name their lambs, and facilitate post-natal care. The new lambs are raised on the farm and seen grazing in our Campus Farm fields, bringing the farm experience and ambiance to students of all majors.
