Show Like a Pro Workshop

Where: Frederick County Fairgrounds in Frederick, MD
The SHOW LIKE A PRO multi-state invitational Dairy Youth Workshop and Show returns for the 8th year! ALL youth ages 8-21 who have an interest in showing dairy animals are invited.
SHOW LIKE A PRO will be held at the Great Frederick Fair dairy pavilion and barns and is an overnight event. Each participant must bring a heifer and a parent or guardian must accompany attendees under the age of 18. By partnering with the Maryland Purebred Dairy Cattle Association, the event is offered at minimal cost to the attendees.
This is a great opportunity for youth to meet and learn from top professionals. The goal of the event is to encourage youth to advance their showmanship skills, network with peers and interact with dairy industry leaders.

Spring into summer show season with a refresher, tips, tricks and how-to for youth ages 8 to 21 years old. Build and enhance your skills for the dairy show season by gaining hands-on experience from industry professionals. Learn by working individually and in groups throughout the day finished off with the Talbot County Fair Dairy Show. Bring your heifer, supplies and ready to learn. Scholarships
2022 Maryland & Virginia Milk Producers (MDVA) Scholarship

Five $1000 scholarships will be awarded to students pursuing a career in the dairy industry. To be eligible, applicants must be the son, daughter, grandchild or employee of an active co-op member, or the child of a Maryland & Virginia employee. Students must also be enrolled or enrolling in an accredited two or four-year college or university program.

Recipients will be selected based on their responses to essay questions, financial need, leadership activities and their career aspirations with announcement of winners.

2021 Maryland Dairy Shrine Scholarship

Scholarships will be awarded (number and amount will be determined by committee).

Applicant must be a current junior member or prior junior member of a Maryland dairy breed organization (22 years of age or younger as of 12/31 of award year).

Applicants must be currently attending a two-year or four-year College with a major of their choice.

2021 Mid-Maryland Dairy Vet Scholarship

A five hundred-dollar ($500) scholarship will be awarded to a Maryland Youth by Mid- Maryland Dairy Vets. Applicants must be majoring in dairy science, animal science or pre- veterinary medicine and must have an interest and commitment to Veterinary Medicine.

2021 Maryland Dairy Industry Association Scholarship

Three scholarships are available to graduating high school seniors, undergraduate students enrolled in a 2- or 4-year college and graduate/professional school students that are Maryland Dairy Industry Association members or a dependent of a member.

Scholarship winners will be notified in March and are encouraged to attend the Maryland Dairy Industry Summer Educational Event held this summer.
