ANSC welcomes Dr. Nishanth Sunny, new Assistant Professor who joined the faculty in January from the Department of Medicine at the University of Florida, where he was a Research Assistant Professor.
Dr. Sunny’s research interests are in identifying the critical pathways involved in metabolic regulation, during growth and development, and during the onset of metabolic diseases, including obesity, type II diabetes mellitus and fatty liver disease. Dr. Sunny received his Bachelor of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry in 2001, from the College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences in Kerala, India and his Ph.D. in 2008 from the University of Maryland, Department of Animal and Avian Sciences.
